California Alternative Payment Program (CAPP)
The CAPP helps low-income families pay for child care, including home daycare. It provides financial assistance for child care expenses based on your family’s income and the type of care needed.
CAPP allows families to choose the type of child care that best meets their needs, including home-based care (family child care homes).
To apply for CAPP, you will need to contact local Child Care Resource and Referral agencies or Alternative Payment Programs in your county. They will guide you on the application process and eligibility requirements.

Our Story
CalWORKs (California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids) Child Care
CalWORKs is a public assistance program that provides cash aid and child care services to low-income families. Under CalWORKs, child care subsidies are available for families transitioning from welfare to work, or who need support in working or attending training.
Eligibility: Families must meet the CalWORKs income and eligibility criteria.
How it works: Eligible families can receive child care assistance through the CalWORKs Stage 1 (immediate child care assistance), Stage 2 (long-term child care assistance), and Stage 3 (ongoing child care after the family exits welfare).
CalWORKs Child Care Program
Eligibility:Families must either currently receive or have previously received CalWORKs cash assistance.
Parents must be working, participating in approved educational/training activities, or in job search programs.
Children must be under 13 years old (or over 13 if they have special needs).
Income Limits:Income must fall below a set threshold determined by the program to qualify for subsidized care.

Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF)
What it is: The CCDF is a federal program that provides subsidies to low-income families to help pay for child care, including home daycare. States administer the funds, and each state has its own process for application.
